Set up a funding model and I will happily donate. Do we still have any celeb posters with mega bucks?
This site is an example of what social media could have been. It should be a case study in decades long engagement with limited changes, updates and moderation. In America some websites now sit in their national archives and are protected by law for their historical content. Is there a uk equivalent?
NB, Defjam etc thanks for your work on keeping this place going.

All true. But it's not just the site's basic architecture, it's the database of members, WHOmals and so on.
The membership list is the most important. Putting up a new site design should be eays enough. Then just plug the members list into that.
As for subscriptions, just make it clear that a subscription does not entitle a member to any management rights. End of.

Mac, agree on the comment about disliking other posters, dislike the way they post would maybe be better.
A few on here who will repeatedly be cunts and make snide comment purely to provoke, best ignored IMO, in real life they could well be decent people though.

Sydney_Iron 9:02 Thu Nov 19 Re: Lifespan More than happy to bung in a few quid if it.helps WHO going, been here long enough and had my share of laughs along with the football talk.
Like a local at a pub, you may not get on or like everyone, but your part of the same community, would miss the banter tbh, on other sites it’s deemed abuse, trolling, off topic or offensive
Yea I agree with this apart from the disliking bit, how can you dislike people you don’t know in person !? Most of the cunts in here are probably perfectly decent people in real life. Happy to contribute, been on here for about 15 years and keep coming back for more.

If the site changes host, consideration has to be given to the woke factor of the company providing the hosting.
I suspect the welcome and liberal ways we operate may scare a few potential hosts off through fear of association.
Give a little thought to the way the site works, then try and come up with a list of products the advertising of which on here is likely to result in increased sales.
Crisps, and...?
Non-mandatory anonymous subscription is probably the best way to begin with to cover the current operating costs, then a search for a new host if one is actually needed once we get the finances on an even, sustainable keel.
As for changes in style/functionality?
Well, we haven't had a proper gloves-off good, old-fashioned WHO ding-dong for a while, so I say "Bring the debate on it on!!!".

Forget any changes we need those codes so if anything basic needs doing, we have access and if moving on to a different server solves the problem so be it, this doesn't mean wholesale changes. Then let the site survive and decisions can then be made if it needs sprucing up etc; What we don't want is the site to fail because steven h has naffed off with the WHO keys, if the site dies a natural death then that's a different matter.

Comma, in a word NO...,
Quite happy for WHO to carry on as is, and the less it’s like at of the other over sanitized and easily offended football/West Ham sites the better.
